Overview

A permanent public art commission for the City of Palm Springs, California.

Porcelain enamel & Aluminum signs point in every direction, leading the viewer to the same
“place”, and thus the same conclusion; community is everywhere.

52 signs in white and French Blue, represent the fifty neighborhood groups that make up the City of Palm Springs.

The visual mass of text signage reimagines a very literal and common object, turning it
into abstract art.

Goals

The city supplied the word "community" representing a pillar concept of the city. It was the artist's responsibility to integrate this word into an original design.

Process

The artist managed his work with city building department, public arts commission, fabricators, install crew, and local media.
