Overview
“Continuity” at Walla Walla, WA Veterans Home. This sculpture is a Corten steel abstract piece, 8′ H x 10″ W x 4.5′ D. It was chosen by the ArtsWA commission as a public sculpture sited in the main courtyard of the new Walla Walla Veterans Home.
Goals
This sculpture needed to reflect the angular siting of the surrounding buildings, and be a calming presence for the wounded and aging veterans.
Process
To complete this project I needed to work with an outside professional fabricator, the curator from ArtsWA, and the firm responsible for delivering and installing the sculpture.
Additional Information
The sculpture, "Continuity", has also been commissioned for the entrance of Youngstown Flats, a new apartment complex in Seattle, WA at 7' H x 8.5' W x 3.5' D in Corten steel, and for the town of La Conner, WA, also in Corten steel at 3' H x 4' W x 2' D.
