Overview

Earthy abstract paintings for Evereve stores nationwide.
I was commissioned by Evereve to create an airy abstract painting that would coordinate with the natural colors and materials of their stores. I recreated this painting in both originals and prints, demonstrating that I can very accurately capture mood and visual weight consistently across multiple pieces.

Goals

The goal with commissioning a custom painting was that they would have art to elevate the identity of their stores, while working harmoniously with the materials selections made by their design team. An earthy pallet was paired with airy visual weight and recycled materials. This resulted in a soothing piece balanced between feminine and masculine energy, that speaks to the brand's sustainability endeavors.

Process

I started by creating a mockup piece based on their initial brief. After one round of feedback to tweak some of the color values, the piece was approved. Over the course of roughly 8 months I duplicated the piece with framed prints on canvas as well as actually repainting copies of the approved mockup. This demonstrates my ability to accurately recreate previous imagery, maintain ongoing deadlines, ship cross country, and meet multiple delivery windows, while communicating with multiple designers.

Additional Information

When pitching myself for this project I familiarized myself with the ethos of the Evereve brand. I knew our values aligned when I read about their sustainability and philanthropic endeavors. I use reclaimed fabric and other recycled materials in my work as a means of landfill diversion, and I have donated a portion of my profit to a different charity each quarter since 2020. I believe that being able to nail the brief was key, but demonstrating our shared professional values added another layer of comfort. Communicating with a total of 3 different designers from the Evereve team made for a hectic delivery schedule. And while I can’t say everything went off without a hitch (because when does shipping anything work that way?), I was able to pivot when needed and maintained clear communication with all involved. As a lifelong lover of fashion, this was a very exciting project and such a feather in my cap.
