Permanent mosaic decoration at busy commuter train station in Valley Stream, NY. Commission by MTA Arts for Transit and; Urban Design, New York.

Project includes:
6 mosaic panels inside the platform waiting room: each 6 feet wide with varying height.
2 mosaic panels inside platform staircase and escalator enclosures: each 9 feet by 9 feet.
A terrazzo floor medallion inside the street level station house: 6 feet diameter.
Goals
Permanent decoration of Long Island Rail Road commuter train station in Valley Stream, NY. Integration was important to the overall design as the station house and platform waiting room was being renovated in the process.
Process
I spent time in the area that is served by this commuter train stop and documented architectural and other details which where then incorporated into the artwork.
