Overview
Exterior residential mural in North Capitol Hill, Seattle. Overall size ~ 6′ x 10′, painted with spray paint and exterior latex brush paint.
North Capitol Hill is a neighborhood full of lush, vibrant gardens. The mural design is intended to augment the experience of viewing the many beautiful flowers through a larger-than-life depiction of a Lily and a Yellow Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly.
Goals
The goals of this project were to beautify what is otherwise a standard residential area and to bring life and artwork into the neighborhood.
Additional Information
This mural is a reflection of the vibrant natural life found in and around the city of Seattle. There are many parks and gardens to enjoy, and the city and its surrounding neighborhoods are truly a sight to witness in the spring when the flowers are in bloom. While the design of this mural is simple and direct in it's meaning, the viewing experience is intended to provide an element of surprise and delight for passersby on their everyday walks.
