Overview
Terrain Park is a series of 23 murals comprising 12,000 square feet of pedestrian spaces in bustling Downtown Brooklyn, NY. The project invites viewers to explore a landscape of topography lines and connect more deeply to the landscape within an urban context. Terrain Park is a project of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership in collaboration with the New York City Department of Transportation’s DOT Art program.
Goals
Terrain Park was commissioned to activate pedestrian spaces in a busy urban context. The design works to bring a sense of soothing calm and awareness of the natural landscape within this context.
Process
Terrain Park was designed with input from project coordinators at the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership over the course of several months, and installed with assistance from local volunteers.
