Overview
These colorful, fun, signature sculptures for the entrance of two adjacent parks in Boca Raton, FL. are approachable “photo ops”, that use imagery that reflects the flora in the area.
Size: 14-ft H X 14-ft L X 8-ft D
Materials: Powder coated stainless steel pipe, plate, and perforated stainless steel. Aluminum plate.
We also created an Art Playspace based on sea life. These four climb-on sculptures provide a quiet space for children and adults
Size: 4.5-ft H X 32-ft L X 5-ft D (largest sculpture)
Materials: Concrete over steel armature
Goals
The community was deeply involved in developing these parks and it was essential that the design team : artists, landscape architect, playground team, etc. work together to meet well defined community goals.
Everyone was deeply invested in the project and I believe this is evident in the quality of all the work.
Process
We collaborated with the art consultant, the community board, the project manager, the landscape architect and the general contractor. The design went through many phases during design development as there were many voices. The project manager did an amazing job of bringing all the voices into harmony.
